Working together for a stronger association

12/11/2007

Hello everyone;

 I just wanted to touch base with you on the outlook of our association. I have missed the fellowship and training that was once the strong point of our association. Guy's, it takes alot of work and dedication to make something great and I know we have good people that will make the association better.

I really want us to get back to doing the stuff that everyone looked forward to at our meetings, such as going to different departments to look at equipment and finding out who is on the eight different departments in our county. I also miss the training that was shared. We have the ability to make this organization something we want to be involved in. I want to thank Neal Wood for the years he had served as President and all the hard work he put into it.

When Neal and myself decided to form this organization we had alot of ideas. Now its time to continue onto new ones.

Hello everyone, What a great showing we had at our meeting. I appreciate the fireman showing interest. Wilburton, Red Oak, Vet Colony, Bengal, Cravens and Buffalo Valley had representatives present. I feel like we had information that could be used by the firemen and we had good fellowship, with the meeting lasting almost two hours. Great job guys !!!

Hi there, we had another good showing at the February meeting. Firemen from West End, Buffalo Valley, Bengal, Red Oak, Veterans Colony, Cravens, and Wilburton were present. Important information on training was shared. Cravens, Bengal, Veterans Colony and Wilburton had representatives at the Firefighter Caucus in Oklahoma City.

Hello everyone, the association is currently working on the 2008 Robbers Cave State Park Fireworks Show. We plan to spend $10,000 again this year. If anyone is interested in helping us raise the money or wants to donate to the fireworks show you can mail it to P.O. Box 125 Wilburton, Oklahoma 74578.

Hi there! Hope everyone is excited about the big Fourth of July Fireworks event coming up on Friday, July 4th. We have all the paper work and permits that we need to make the show great. As you probably already know we have the pavillion just south of the park restauraunt which we get every year. We will have food around six o'clock. Family and workers should be there around that time. We will be out there around 2pm to keep watch on our site if you want to come out early.

We have raised most of the money we need to put the show on. If you know anyone who miht want to make a donation tell them to send it to LCFFA P.O. Box 125 Wilburton, Oklahoma 74578. This year we will be selling glow in the dark necklaces for the price of $2.00 for one and $5.00 for three.

Hello! We are glad everyone survived the fireworks show this year without any injuries. I have had people tell me that this year was one of the greatest years. It is also one of the best years for food. The association received enough donations that we gave away 1,000 glow sticks to children at the fourth of july show. It seemed like everything went fairly smooth. Thanks to all of you that helped with the show, food, and donations.

Hello everyone, I would like to take this moment to wish you all a happy 2009. It really was a fast year in 2008. The Association is still going strong in some aspects, but it lacks participation by its members. This thing will never get better or bigger with only a few people being involved. It is up to you to make something out of the resources that the association can give you. We have received a medium rescue truck for the association. This truck will be used to store training equipment and to be used during classes at the training center. It was donated by the AOK Railroad. We want to make a cascade system on the truck, it has generator capability, and has rope rescue, stokes basket, and a porta power on it already. We have also put some random first aid equipment on the truck. This unit could be used for disasters or other events in the county.

We have done work to the red dually truck, head lamp replacement and work on the air conditioning. The fire prevention trailer was taken to the LeFlore schools by the LeFlore and Bengal Firefighters. It was a big success.

It will soon be time to raise money again for the annual fireworks show at robbers cave state park. All help will be appreciated. Thanks for a great year.
